Orange Basket

Yesterday, we made 2 'baskets' from hard paper to hold oranges for my boy to bring to school to greet his teachers today. This is a rather easy craft.

Materials needed:
  • Cardboard, to be cut into 8 strips of 2.5cm X 20cm after coloring
  • Colouring medium (we used crayon)
  • 2 paper fasteners
How to do it:

  1. Colour the piece of cardboard. I used 2 pieces of 5"x8" index cards.
  2. Mommy cut the coloured cardboard into 10 strips.
  3. Use a hole puncher to punch a hole on both ends.
  4. Use a fastener to hold all strips together on one end.
  5. Leave the first top one out.
  6. Now gather the remaining 9 strips in reverse order. (ie, the 1st strip will now be at the bottom, the 2nd strip will be on top of the 1st strip and so on)
  7. Lastly, put the remaining strip last.
  8. Put the fastener thru the hole of all the strips.
  9. Fasten the fastener. You should see a half sphere shape now.
  10. Pull the last strip up. That will be the handle.
  11. You can put your oranges in now.
春节快乐!万事如意!
