Glitter Globe

I haven't been updating this blog. In fact, I haven't been doing crafts with the kids. Unless you count abstract painting as craft. *laughs* This is our first craft for the year.

The family has been taking turn to fall ill since last December. Plus my kids has lots of homework from school. *pant*

I finally found time for my son to so this simple craft as he was home due to a viral fever ... again.

Try this. It takes less then 5 minutes to complete but it's endless fun ... for my daughter that is. *wink*

Oh! If you have noticed, this blog had been over-hauled! Hope you like the new look! Check out the rotating header by pressing the F5 key. *wink*

Materials needed:

  • 1 empty glass or clear plastic jar with screw cap (we used a baby food jar)
  • Different coloured Glitters
  • Various Sequins
  • Water
  • Strong glue (optional)
How to do it:
  1. Remove any label on the jar.
  2. Pour some different coloured glitters each into the jar.
  3. Pour water into the jar till 4/5 full.
  4. Put the sequins in the jar.
  5. Screw on the cap back on the jar.
  6. Glue the cap to the jar to fully secure it if you like.
  7. When the glue is dried, your child can now shake the bottle to see the glittering jar.
Note:
You can also use other light items but not those that float.

Cough out my money!

Ah! I received my cheque of S$150+ from Google yesterday. It's a bad time to encash now as the US rate is so low. But it's better than nothing.

Now, where are my cheques from Advertlets and Nuffnang, which I have requested on 4 January?! Do you guys have to taken so long to pay up? *sigh* Checking if I cheated by clicking on the ads, are you? Honestly, yeah I did click on a couple of ads. That's because I'm interested to find out about the ads mah. Not that I deliberately click constantly to cheat what.

Oh well. Just remember to pay up, hopefully before end March so it will be in time for me to buy the kid's birthdays' presents.

Luckily, I don't depend on these monies otherwise I would have starved to death.

I want nice-nice too!

爸爸 bought me some clothes and shoes last Sunday. I left the shoes outside the shoe cabinet (cos I need to repack old shoes to let out space for the new ones) *should have kept them*. I later decided to try the blouse that I did try when he bought it.

妹妹 shouted "very nice!" when she saw me wearing it and the next thing I knew, she grabbed the other blouse and insisted on trying it too. After that, she went to put on a pair of my newly bought shoes. She happily walked to us and asked, "Nice?" Then went to the full length mirror to check it out herself. *faint*

You probably won't believe it if I tell you she hates shopping for clothes. She will scream, cry, jump, etc, every time we want to go in to an apparel shop. Weird right? But she loves shoes! *wink*

* It fits me nicely, what. *

* 妈妈 wears it as a blouse. I wear it as a dress. *

My classmate wants to be my friend

哥哥 has been having fever since last Saturday. I bought him to the doctor for follow-up today and he is now on anti-biotic. I asked him if he misses school, he told me he has miss his 听写 and spelling. Sigh! This is how stress the kids are nowadays. I had to assured him that it's alright because I'm sure he is going to get them right since he has been learning them for a while.

Then I remembered something he told me last week when he finished school ...

哥哥 : Fiona wants to be my friend.
妈妈 : Huh? Isn't she your classmate?
哥哥 : Yes.
妈妈 : Then you are her friend also right?
哥哥 : Yes but she still says she wants to be my friend.
妈妈 : Why?
哥哥 : She says she likes me lor.
妈妈 : *laughs* Really ah?

We happened to meet the little girl when we went to fetch 妹妹 ...

哥哥 : *shouts* Fiona!
哥哥 : You like me hor?

The girl shyly nods her head.

Errr .... who?

爸爸 bought an 二胡 yesterday. We had planned to learn that instrument years ago before we got married but found the instrument expensive (was close to $100 then) and the school location was rather inconvenient for us.

We had the instrument now but no teacher. What we know now is to play Do Re Mi Fa So La Si Do. That's it. *laughs* Maybe I could get my guitar notes to trying out. For the moment, we have to practice is will enough not to sound like a broken record player. *my poor neighbours*

The kids seems really interested and wanted to try each time we practice. 哥哥 seems quite good at it.
