Tag: Hey you! Rockin Girl!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! That's 6 Thank yous because I was awarded 6 times for this Rockin' Girl Blogger Award by these equally rockin' ladies, Tracy, ECL, Jolene, Annie, LZmommy and Twin. It's an honour!

I think MamaBliss, Jean and Montessorimum deserved this award too for the time, patience and effort spent (going to spend) to home school their kids. And this awesome and amazing daddy who I learned so much from. So, this is to you!

Ps. don't be sad if your names are not mentioned okay. I think those who spend time to blog about their life, kids or anything they love, on top of their busy life are rockin' and awesome too!

What animal are you?

Never wear clothings with black and white strips when 妹妹 is around. Why?

Because she will call you Z.E.B.R.A.

That was what she called me last Saturday.

Fishes in the toilet bowl

Hope noone is reading this while having their meals ...

妹妹 is not toilet trained yet. Sometimes, I'll be successful to get her to sit on the toilet seat or the potty to do her business. Most of the time, she does it in the diaper and run to me to tell me she did it.

What I'll do is throw the err ... 'gold' in the toilet bowl and flush it away. But every time, before before I could do it, she would say. "Fish!! Fish!!' pointing to the 'gold' in the water.

Ai yo! I want to faint lah! LOL

Salami/Ham & Cheese Toast Making

Yesterday, my son hands-on on making toast. He always had lots of fun when he has a chance to help in cooking especially if he is making everything on his own.
I think this counts as craft too, so I'm posting it here to share.

Ingredients:
  • 2 slices of bread of your choice
  • 3 slices of cheese of your choice, cut into 6 strips each
  • Toppings of your choice (we had shaved Breakfast Ham and Salami)
  • Parmesan Cheese
How to do it, in the Chef own words:
  1. Wash your hands and dry them first.
  2. Take a piece of bread and put on a plate.
  3. Put 3 pieces of cheese (he meant the cut strips) over the bread.
  4. Put the ham over the cheese; put A LOT. (we did ham first)
  5. Put some more cheese. Must put nicely. Don't anyhow put. Won't be nice later.
  6. Put the breads in the toaster and wait for a while.
  7. See the cheese are all melted. (8 minutes, the assistant took note of the time)
  8. Can take them out. Must wear glove - long ones.
  9. Put some Parmesan Cheese.
  10. Okay, can eat now but too hot for me.
Note:
The assistant cut the Salami in quarters and chopped the shaved ham in smaller pieces because it was a bit difficult to cut them nicely.

Look what 爸爸 got for me!

The other day, I told 爸爸 that someone commented that I should send my Grilled Eggplant in Spoon photograph to DMBLGiT. I told him all those food pictures send looked so professionally done. I feel shy to enter. 爸爸 said what I need is a change of serving plates and a better camera.

We have had our Patra plates and bowls since we had our house and the camera, though is a low-end one, is still quite new. Only close to two years old. I thought he was joking when he said we need a change. Look what he got for me?! Bowls and plates in all kind of shapes. Not bad huh, his taste. He also bought me a digital weighing scale which I was too stingy to buy. He even asked me to go camera hunting but I didn't want to spend that money. Maybe I should sharpen my photography skills first.

Wah! I take this as your encouragement and appreciation to my cooking, okay? Oh, and your approval to me taking food blogging as a hobby too. Thank you!

Watermelon Shaker

My daughter did a Cherry Shaker and my son did this Watermelon Shaker. Both are basically very similar, using almost the same materials but just as fun!

Materials needed:

  • 1 Paper Plates
  • Red and Green Crepe Paper, cut into small pieces
  • Glue
  • Any Beans or Rice

How to do it:

  1. Spread glue all over the bottom one paper plate.
  2. Stick green crepe paper on the edge of the paper plate and red crepe paper on the inner circle of the plate till it's all covered.
  3. Set aside to dry first.
  4. Put glue on the edge of the paper plate.
  5. Pour some beans in it.
  6. Fold the paper plate in half to stick them together.
  7. Use clothes pegs to clip the edge
  8. Set aside to dry.
  9. Shake it!

I not scare liao

妹妹 has been holding on the railings or the wall to get down the stairs for a very long time. I have encourage her to try getting down without any help but she refuse. Today, she got a piece of cake from Mrs Seah, the Administrator in 哥哥's school. With her hands full (she was holding a bag with the other), she had no choice but to get down the stair without holding the railing. Guess what? She did it! No problems at all! I could tell she was very pleased with herself too! Well done, Sweetie!

Adult Diaper

I went to buy a packet of sanitary pads. 妹妹 was with me and wanted to pay for it. She was holding it and she said, "Diaper!" LOL
