Ms Vainy Smurf

Last week, we went to buy sunglasses for 哥哥 which was required for his school holiday programme. I know 妹妹 will fight for it if we only get one, so we bought another pair which is lightly tinted for her.

Now she brings that in the sunglass pouch everywhere she goes, even to bed! If she puts it on, she will check it out in the mirror. *faint* One big vain-pot! And 妈妈 don't even own one!

Family Day Pinic

妹妹's school organized a family day picnic on 21 May (yah, another late post). 爸爸 took leave from work and 哥哥 took leave from school to join us. It was REALLY tiring but fun.

We all gathered in 妹妹's school before we board the bus to botanic garden. 哥哥 was commenting on how they never pray to God (he is attending a Christian School) for good weather as it was rather hot that day :P I told him at least it didn't rain. ;)

After we return home, the kids slept and only wake up in the evening. Before, they still said they are not tired and was still playing when we reached home.

爸爸 was glad that he took leave. He was having lots of trouble at work but at least the outing took his mind off work for a day. I'm pestering him to take leave again because I intend to bring the kids to the bird park and night safari before the new school term starts. Otherwise, I'll bring them to the bird park myself. Hopefully, I don't pengsai (collapse). LOL

哥哥, 妹妹 and her best friend ^_^", waiting for the games to start.

Looking at how her friends do it.

Walking slowly balancing the bean bag on her head.
Teacher said 妹妹 walked like a princess. :P

Throwing the bean bag inside the hula hoop.
See that flying red bean bag!

Now, 妈妈's turn to walk back with the bean bag on her head.

While waiting for the next game to start,
妹妹 repeat the game played earlier on her own. :P

妹妹 guiding the blind-folded 妈妈 back to the starting point.

哥哥's turn to guide 爸爸 back.

During break time, 妈妈 played hula hoop bean bag (basketball)
with the older kids.
See that red bean bag in mid air?

While, 妹妹 was engrossed with her twisting and turning. ;)

Passing the rubber band. See how serious the kids are?
Our team won by 1 rubber band!

Slowly, cannot drop it.

妹妹 doesn't want to join in any other games.
She only wants the hula hoop.

Father's (Birth) Day

We celebrated my father's birthday 2 Sundays ago (yeah, this post is very late) at the restaurant of my sister's friend.

The food was okay only. Seafood was fresh except for the fish but seriously, if you ask me, I won't go there again because it's not value for money. :P I wasn't very happy when they told us that their soup of the day were sold out either. It was only noon-time and there were only a few diners there. Sold out? Or did they want us to order their Shark's Fin soup. When I asked for ice water, they served us branded bottled water which cost $7 or was it $9 and the only difference was there was an additional slice of lemon in it. Sometimes, I wonder what's wrong these restaurants which don't serve plain water. Anyway, they probably get the water straight from the tap. I doubt they bother to boil it too. Ya lah, water is expensive but not that I'm going to drink 1 gallon mah. *Wei, sis, go feedback to your friend huh!* I think my father will start nagging again if he knew how much that meal cost. :P Shhhh ...

Lucky, the company was great. I haven't seen my sister and her boyfriend for a while. We chatted while my father was busy playing with the kids. After which, we walked around SG Flyers and took some pictures. Then my sister's boyfriend send my father home while my sister send us to Raffles City (to walk some more).

Come Father's Day, I don't intend to buy my father lunch or dinner. I'm going to bake some cookies my father will like. I think he will enjoyed that more. ;) At least he will not nag at me for wasting money eating out. XD And the kids will be very happy going to grandpa's house too because this means they will be able to take the double-decker bus to Jelita Cold Storage and pushing little shopping carts there. ^_^"

Who's who?

I was doing backup for my stuff and found some of the kids' baby photo. Babies are soooo cute!

So, who's who? Can you tell? Or are they the same person? ;)

Macaroni Necklace

I found half a bag of Penne (pasta) in my store. Since I'm the only one at home who eat it, I decided to use it for something else to quickly finish it. :P

I gave my daughter a string and she eagerly starts threading them. She couldn't stop with just one necklace. She did 2! And 2 bracelets too!

For older kids, you can get them to paint the penne first. You will get very nice and colourful necklaces instead.

Materials needed:

  • Penne Pasta (elbow pasta works well too)
  • Strings, desired length.

How to do it:
  1. Help the child tie a penne pasta to one tie of the string, so the rest will not slip through.
  2. Let the child string the pasta one a time till he/she attain the desired length. Tape the end of the string with sticky tape if it's to 'soft' for the child to thread
  3. Help the child remove the end pasta and tie a knot to secure.
  4. Done. Your child can now wear his/her food.

* It's never to old to thread *

We like reading

妹妹 just enjoyed reading and 哥哥 just enjoy distracting her when she is reading. So in order to stop him from doing it. I made 哥哥 read with 妹妹 his nursery level story books.

I finally had a chance to video it down. I find it rather cute. ^.^
